Golf is the greatest game in the world! Growing up in Canton, Michigan, I was introduced to this wonderful game at an early age by my grandfather. Since that time I have spent nearly my entire life playing, enjoying and now working in golf. I attended Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Michigan where I received a full scholarship to play collegiate golf. I graduated from Schoolcraft with a degree in Business Management after which I went to the SDGA - Golf Academy of the South where I graduated with honors and received my certifications in Club Repair, Tournament Operations and Advanced Teaching. I have been teaching at RedTail since the new facility opened in 2003 and I am also the Assistant Golf Coach for the St. Mary's Academy Girls Golf Team (Where I am honored to be a part of the women’s golf team that has won four (4) state championships since my coaching tenure began in 2005). I consider myself extremely fortunate to work at RedTail with people I enjoy and students whom I am passionate about getting better.

If you have not visited RedTail before or taking a lesson from one of our professionals, let me be the first to welcome you to the RYG™ Golf Academy at RedTail Golf Center. I have experienced and worked at numerous golf courses across the country and, hands down, RedTail is the best teaching and custom fitting facility I have ever seen. The resources, technology, training and professionalism that we have at RedTail are second to none. Don't just take me at my word, however, I invite you to experience our incredible instructional and custom fitting programs for yourself, and I guarantee you will be amazed at what we can do to improve your swing and enhance your enjoyment of the game.

I pride myself on my knowledge and understanding of the basic fundamentals and laws of the golf swing. My teaching philosophy is simple, “Learn it! Train it! Trust it!” I think it is important for every student to first learn exactly what he or she is attempting to achieve. Understanding your own personal goals and what it is going to take to get there sets the foundation for improvement. Only after you have identified goals can you begin the process of training, practicing and playing to obtain those objectives. As your game develops and you see tangible improvement, both physically and mentally, you will begin to develop confidence and learn to trust your golf swing and abilities. I enjoy instructing golfers of all ability levels, experience, age and gender. For all of my students, however, I have one common goal - develop a consistent, reliable golf swing and enhance their enjoyment of the game.

I am extremely dedicated to not only seeing my students improve their games, but also furthering my own knowledge and accomplishments as a golf instructor. I am humbled to note that I worked very hard to receive my certification as one of a very select group of Trackman Masters. Moreover, I developed and constructed a 3-D Swing Plane model that is currently used by more than 400 teaching professionals worldwide as well as Trackman and the Titleist Performance Institute. I have also been recognized as one of the Top 25 Instructors in the country by the Golf Academy of America Alumni.

When I am off the lesson tee, I love to spend time with my beautiful wife, Denise as well as my son, Maverick. I really enjoy Portland, but I also like getting back to Michigan to see my family and friends. I am an avid sports fans and I follow all of the Michigan/Detroit college and professional sports team.
