Growing up in the northern suburbs of Chicago I was very fortunate to have access to some of the best public golf in the country. It was there that I fell in love with this incredible game. In fact, I can remember the actual shot, a pure, 270 yard drive down the center of the fairway when I was 13 years old, that created my passion for golf that I carry with me to this day. Since those early years in Chicago, I have devoted myself to becoming the best golf professional I could be as well as dedicating myself to learning everything possible about the golf swing and this amazing game. I have been tireless about working with mentors and other highly regarded golf instructors to improve my knowledge, and I attended the Golf Academy of America in Phoenix to help further my pursuit of a career in golf.
While attending the Golf Academy of America, I took full advantage of all the resources available to me. I studied everything from club repair to golf instruction. I achieved my Level 2 certification in TrackMan at the Golf Academy and I am well equipped to help my students improve their games with the state-of-the-art ball flight and video analysis technology. While in Phoenix, I also worked as a golf instructor at TGA Premier Sports. There, I honed my ability to communicate, encourage, and help new golfers learn how to better play this game. I am currently enrolled in the PGA program , and I intend to achieve my Class A status very soon.
My teaching philosophy focuses on creating an effective, repeatable golf swing for my students. Impact location, path of the club face, and club face direction are the three main factors that determine ball flight. We will work on your fundamentals to improve these factors and build a swing that works best for you. We will also work on the golf course to help you better understand the mental game and how to score where it matters most!
I believe it is very important as a golf coach to positively reinforce, encourage and motivate my students to play better. To that end, I think it essential to never forget this is a game, and we need to have FUN when we are playing and practicing. At the same time, I take my coaching very seriously, and I strive to deepen my own understanding and knowledge so that I can find new creative ways to help my students get better!
Allow me to introduce you to the wonderful game of golf. I aspire to instill the same love and passion I have for this wonderful game in each of my students. Whether I am teaching a private lesson or one of the many adult or junior clinics here at Red Tail Golf Center, we truly have an unparalleled instructional program. It is an honor and a privilege to be one of the RYGTM Certified Instructors here at Red Tail.
When I am not teaching or playing golf, I like to find unfamiliar music in the Rock, Blues, Soul, R & B, and Rap genres. I will still occasionally play my old Baritone, which sounds like a mellow Trombone, but looks like a Tuba!
