RYG™ Certified Fitting Professional
I was raised in Charleston, the capital city of “Almost Heaven” West Virginia. Despite having a talent for golf at a young age, my passion and energy was far more musically-inclined growing up. The product of two professional musicians, I was born in Texas while my parents were finishing their grad degrees at UNT. I studied bass, drums and piano and played upright bass in the West Virginia Youth Symphony. While I played on the golf, track and swim teams, music always took center stage in my life. For my senior year of high school I was selected to attend the prestigious Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, Florida, performing in their Jazz Band and Symphonic Orchestra. After graduation I recorded and toured playing bass guitar for the rock band “Happy Hour”, whose music can still be found on various corners of the internet for anyone curious enough to look.
It was around that same time in my early twenties that I started playing a lot more golf, eventually becoming good enough that family and friends were encouraging me to play competitively. Within a couple years I won an event on the Michelob Ultra Tour, back then one of the most competitive amateur circuits in Florida. I then decided to use my college eligibility and received a scholarship to play for West Virginia State, where I spent four years as their top seed while earning two degrees in Economics and Business Management. Following my collegiate career I won numerous local events, managed respectable finishes in many state championships and represented the West Virginia Golf Association during inter-state team matches. Unfortunately a work-related back injury in 2015 forced me out of competition.
Before I joined the Redtail team I worked for seven years at Dr. Pepper Snapple as an Account Manager, coordinating orders, deliveries and managing inventory for grocery and convenience stores. After moving to Portland in 2018, I shifted industries by taking a position with AT&T as a Retail Business Consultant and Store Manager. While working in the corporate world has its benefits and challenges, getting the opportunity to make a living following my passion at a unique top-notch facility like Redtail was a dream come true. The vast wealth of resources available are second to none, offering some of the finest clubfitters and teaching pros in the country and pairing them with an arsenal of cutting-edge technology to enhance your development. By learning and utilizing the Trackman software along with our innovative R.Y.G. system, Redtail has optimized my bag and completely retuned my game. I look forward to providing you with the same experience to transform and “Raise Your Game” as well!
Aside from work I enjoy spending time outside on nature hikes with my girlfriend Kitty and three boys Ren, Ryker and Ripley. I work on my golf game with any free time I have but still play my bass every once in a while. I’m also an avid reader and a diehard West Virginia Mountaineers fan.
