RYG™ Certified Teaching Professional
Growing up in Keizer, Oregon I have always loved the Great Northwest! The variety of natural beauty and activities from the Coast to the mountains is very special to me. The Northwest also provides some of the best of and most natural layouts for golf.
Golf was not my first passion in sports. I grew up playing football, basketball, baseball, as well as snowboarding and wakeboarding. An injury on football field, however, led to me getting more involved in golf. To pursue my passion for golf, I moved to San Diego and attended the Golf Academy of America where I earned my degree in Golf Complex Operations and Management. I also studied to become a Nurse and practiced as a Certified Nursing Assistant, but it was apparent early on that golf was my passion and not the medical field.
While at the Golf Academy of America, I took full advantage of the resources that were available to me. I studied everything from golf manufacturing to the business of golf as well as club repair and instruction. Teaching the game of golf, however, quickly became my greatest interest. Instructing golf is exciting for me because every student is unique, and each golfer presents a new and interesting challenge. It is both fulfilling and fun for me to work with my students and see them improve. Every student learns differently, but the constant is that all my students want to improve and enhance their enjoyment of the game. There is no greater joy that I experience in my professional life than setting goals with my students and seeing them achieve these objectives.
I am an RYGTM Certified Teaching and Fitting Professional at RedTail, and I am also deeply involved in the junior programs at RedTail. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and ability levels, and as I mentioned above, I pride myself on taking a unique approach with each student that will work best for them. I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of the RedTail family. The resources, technology, professionalism and knowledge that exist at RedTail Golf Center are second to none, and I take great pride in our facility. Don't just take me at my word, however, allow me or any one of our Certified Professionals the opportunity to show you our instructional and club fitting amenities here at RedTail Golf Center, and I guarantee you will be amazed at what we can do to improve your swing and enhance your enjoyment of the game.
When I am away from teaching I find myself having fun playing golf, pick-up basketball, football, snowboarding, and working out. I’ve always been an avid sports enthusiast. I love to play and watch as many sports as time allows for me. My favorite sports teams have always been the Washington Huskies, Seahawks, Mariners and of course our home town Timbers and Blazers.
